Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake has launched a collaboration with world-renowned artist BOOGIE to create an artistic project aimed at bringing fans closer to the team and celebrating the start of the 2023 season. BOOGIE used his spray cans to make a one-of-a-kind piece of art on the body of one of the team’s cars. It was shown for the first time in the beautiful setting of Waldhaus Flims in the Swiss Alps.

BOOGIE, a German-born graffiti artist, designer and illustrator living in Switzerland, boasts an artistic career that has taken him to create content in more than 40 countries, with some of the biggest brands in the world and some of the most accomplished artists of his generation.
Based in Basel, BOOGIE embodies the spirit of Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake: international and proudly local, ready to engage with different cultures and places without forgetting where it comes from. Designed for a team that, since its beginnings, has been challenging the status quo, the Art Car is born in the Swiss mountains, the incredible alpine backdrop playing as big a part in the composition as brushes and paint.
The design of this artistic project is not a simple PR stunt but the beginning of a campaign to bring fans closer to the team. JigSpace, an Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake partner, created a bespoke 3D model of the car in its distinctive livery, which fans can enjoy in augmented reality (AR) from the comfort of their own homes.
To showcase the team’s partnership and the newest technologies, the Art Car will also be available in person when it travels to London for the 2023 ICE London, the Global Gaming Hub held at the ExCel on February 7-9. Additional appearances in Zurich, inviting the local community to test drive the car, and in Grand Prix destination cities are also planned but have yet to be announced.
A select group of the team’s most devoted fans will be invited to the team’s Hinwil headquarters to see the Art Car and meet BOOGIE. To demonstrate how the Art Car project is living, fans will collaborate with the artist to add their unique touch to detail. Fans are at the centre of everything the team does, and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake wants to bring them as close to this project as possible.
Finally, following a year-long campaign, the Art Car by BOOGIE will be auctioned by Memento Exclusives through F1 Authentics to raise funds for Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake’s charity partner, Save the Children – giving back to the community even further.
This project will bring Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake closer to the fans in each phase of its development. The team is proud to go on this exciting, ground-breaking journey with trusted partners and an inspiring artist. This is the team’s first ever Art Car: with his distinctive, clean, comic-style look, BOOGIE put his signature on a unique project.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director of Sauber Group and Team Representative:
We are proud to bring this project to life with an incredible artist such as BOOGIE. He is like us, the embodiment of talent who came to call Switzerland home and evolved a unique style and way of doing things. Like BOOGIE, we are not afraid to challenge how things are done; the Art Car project is the best example. Most importantly, we don’t want the Art Car to remain closed in our HQ: it’s a project for our community, for our fans, to get closer to the team – first through the JigSpace AR experience, then in person – and feel what drives us. I am excited about seeing this project grow, and I can’t wait for the next few months.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and painting a Formula One car for a Swiss team is special for me. Painting a Formula One car is not something you get to do daily. I wanted to capture the team’s enthusiasm for my design by having the letters come together to produce an art piece representing all the partners, partners, and organizations that helped make this car. Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake is more than just what its name says; it is a group of people who all work toward the same goal.
